Skeleton is a dangerous sport played in the Winter Olympics it involves racing down a ice track on a small tobaggon head first on your front.

Skeleton origianally debuted in the olympics in 1928 but was then removed in 1948 and then finally returned in 2002 and since then has been part of the Winter Olympics. Great Britain and the US have the most olympic gold medals with 3 each, United States of America also hold the most olympic medals in skeleton with 5.

Skeleton was mainly practised in Switzerland however it held its first official competition in Austria. Since then multiple countries have claimed medals in the winter olympics.

In 2026 the winter will take place in Italy: Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo. This is the first time in olympic history that two cities have been given the right to co-host the Olympic Games. Skeleton will take place in Cortina d'Ampezzo between February 12th and February 15th.You will be able to watch the Winter Olympics on the BBC and TNTsport.

There are many athletes from the GB squad who partook in skeleton during the Winter Olympics across many years such as Matt Weston coming 15th, Marcus Watt coming 16th and Brogan Crowley and Laura Deas who both competed in the womens. The gold medal for the mens went to Christopher Grotheer representing Germany,the silver medal went to Axel Jungk also representing Germany and the bronze medal went to Wengang Yan from China. Currently, we do not know the men and women repressenting Great Britian in the next games.
